4th of July Fun & Fireworks in Roanoke

This year, because the 4th of July falls on a Monday there is literally a whole weekend of fun to celebrate our Independence. Here are just a few of the many family friendly events as well as fireworks displays that will be happening in and around Roanoke!

Freedom First Festival - Elmwood Park in Roanoke - Sunday July 3rd

From 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. in Elmwood Park the whole family can enjoy inflatables, a rock wall, cornhole, lawn games or just hang out and enjoy the weather. The Elmwood Amphitheater will have FREE Music until 3:30 p.m. with Sugar Ray going on at 7pm (tickets are $25 for the Sugar Ray concert). There will be a number  of food truck options all day long.

Fireworks At 9:30 pm: River's Edge Park - A free to the public 15 minute Fireworks display will be above River's Edge Park.

Vinton War Memorial

Vinton War Memorial is the setting to begin and finish a 4 mile run, and show your support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. Proceeds support service summer camps and after-school programs for disadvantaged youth in our region.

Salem Fair Fireworks - Monday July 4th

Salem Civic Center

Start your day enjoying the Salem Fair, which will be open, and will have games, entertainment, and delicious food for the whole family. At 6:30,  Cimmaron takes the stage and again at 8:30, with the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Note: All fair goers 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult 25 or over.

Vinton 4th of July Celebration - July 4

Vinton War Memorial
The Town of Vinton celebrates the 4th on the lawn of the Vinton War Memorial. Festivities start at 7:00pm leading up to fireworks at  9:30 p.m. . There will be plenty of food available to purchase.
